Highland GoatThe west coast of Scotland has some of the best wildlife spotting opportunities for dolphins, minky whales, seals and otters. The area is home to an abundance of birdlife such as waders and seabirds on nearby Loch Sunart and Loch Linnhe. Seals and otters can be spotted from a wildlife hide at Garbh Eilean which is 45 minutes away. Various wildfoul on Loch Shiel and Loch Doilet include Whooper Swans, Golden Eyes, Red Breasted Mergansers, Grebes and Black Throated Divers.

Foresters LodgeGolden Eagles and the magnificent White Tailed Sea Eagle can often be seen along with Herons, Pipets, Cuckoos and Woodpeckers. If you are lucky you may see the White Tailed Eagle passing in front of lodge on route from Loch Shiel to a favoured perch looking over the shallows of Loch Doilet! Foresters Lodge logo is two white tailed eagles from a photograph taken on Loch Shiel.

There are also pine martens and badgers in the area which visit the garden most evenings – the lodge has a ‘feeding platform’ which gives guests the perfect opportunity for photographing the wildlife.
